First Alert Weather Day: Periods of heavy showers, isolated thunderstorms into early Tuesday morning

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow)- The Hawaii News Now weather team has extended the First Alert Weather Day until early Tuesday morning for all islands.
An upper-level disturbance and deep moisture have combined to increase the threat for locally heavy rain and thunderstorms, especially for windward areas of the islands.
The National Weather Service has also extended a Flood Watch for all islands through 6 a.m. Tuesday.
The threat for flooding will continue as rain will fall on ground already saturated by weekend downpours.
Be prepared for flood-prone roadways and other low-lying areas to be closed because of high runoff and overflowing streams.
Also be prepared to take quick action to seek higher ground or evacuate if a flash flood warning is issued in your area.
